We shall seek to show this interrelationship of the environment and the BRAIN and consequent repercussions of any NEGATIVE BRAIN ENERGY BALANCE. We call this patho-physiology of mental illness and good health.
THE ENVIRONMENT
This term ENVIRONMENT is used in its wide ramifications for purposes of this discussion. Indeed we are all subject to global environment as discussed including global warming and it`s myriad effects on life and nature in general.
In this discussion we refer to environmental influences on both the mother and the unborn child , all the way to delivery and post delivery.
THE ENVIRONMENT CAN BE CLASSIFIED AS
1 : PRENATAL
This is to say factors that affects the unborn child through the mother. These include infections from mother to child and other metabolic or environmental processes like pollution. Included in this group is hereditary or genetic factors
2 : PERINATAL
This entails the factors that may prevail at delivery including prolonged labour or difficulty in breathing leading to a tired baby. Lack of oxygen may then precipitate damage to the brain and lead to mental illnesses including epilepsy later in life.
3 POST ICTAL
These are factors like trauma or infections that can come later in life. For example people who suffer head injury may present with mental disorders later on. People who indulge in alcohol and drug abuse may also develop mental disorders..
All these are environmental factors and hence it’s imperative to provide clean and sustainable environment for all humans as negative environment has medical and psychological effects in the long run
